The latest version of PacsoftNG has left the harbour, introducing two factor authentication (2FA) options for Customer Portal users and better visibility of online and on-site payments made using our end-to-end MarinaPay payment solution.
The changes, introduced in recent releases and bundled together in version 8.5, improve the security of PacsoftNG and help ensure operation of your marina or boatyard continues to be plain sailing in 2026.
Customer Portal security and quality of life improvements
The Customer Portal 2FA security upgrade gives portal users the ability to implement 2FA on their accounts, via third-party authenticator apps, SMS, or email. Portal users’ login names will now default to their email addresses, removing room for confusion.
In a welcome addition for marina and boatyard managers, version 8.5 also provides the ability for administrators to configure whether customers can manually delete saved credit card details from the Customer Portal.
This change gives marinas and boatyards flexibility to enact their own policies, allowing them to choose whether to give customers the choice to manually delete their own card details or require them to get in contact to request the change (useful for marinas that hold customer credit card details as security for the duration of a vessel’s stay).
MarinaPay enhanced to make transaction tracking simpler
There are also some useful changes to the rigging for MarinaPay. Version 8.5 makes it possible for MarinaPay users in Australia and New Zealand to view a ‘Pacsoft’ transaction reference within their MarinaPay Vostro portal’s Transaction screen, making reconciling payments simpler.
Last, but not least, the latest version of PacsoftNG includes some small tweaks to improve receipting workflows, saving time for marina and boatyard staff and helping to keep customers happy.
